It's no secret that some of the most valuable learning experiences students get will occur outside of the classroom. By allowing students to connect their knowledge with tangible applications, you make learning much more meaningful and longer-lasting! Here are some local learning resources in the Lansing area. The Impression 5 Science CenterScience centers are a great way for kids to connect with STEM concepts and applications in a fun, hands-on setting! Unlike a traditional museum, Impression 5 focuses on activities that get kids involved and learning with all of their senses. The MSU MuseumRight in our backyard, the MSU Museum is a great informal learning resource. With exhibits on everything from evolution to dinosaurs to Chinese quilts, it's a great opportunity for students to see and learn about a wide variety of elements of history and science. Sleepy Hollow State ParkA state park is a great opportunity for students to experience learning in a more organic environment than a museum or a classroom. By getting students outside, a teacher is better able to show them the real-world implications of their learning while encouraging them to explore, move, and grow with their surroundings.
