Here you'll find some examples of major projects and research that I have undertaken.
The Inner Circle:
Kappa Kappa Psi's National Ritual Education Program
As a member of the Ritual Performance and Education Committee, I spent two years collaborating with colleagues to create The Inner Circle, a program for brothers of Kappa Kappa Psi to use in self-paced reflection and learning around the fraternity's Ritual.
The Inner Circle consists of 20 lesson Topics arranged into five Units, which participants can move through sequentially or hand-pick based on interest or need. The intended outcomes for Brothers are as follows:

- Perform and present a meaningful Ritual for all participants
- Create a comfortable atmosphere to have personal conversations about the Ritual
- Utilize the Ritual as a tool to help guide chapter function, culture, and operations
- Embrace the Ritual as a unifying experience for all members
A Companion Text to Mathematical Modeling: Applications with GeoGebra
As a capstone project, my cohort of math educators co-authored a companion text to the book Mathematical Modeling: Applications with GeoGebra. Our text serves as a guide to teachers on how to use the tasks in the book effectively in a classroom to teach concepts from mathematical, physical, and social sciences. I headed the project as editor of the book, which can be found below.

Research on Skill Recognition and Student Persistence
I completed an action research study to find out whether students who have a better awareness of mathematics concepts that they are expected to learn and use, are better able to identify these skills in the context of challenging problems and thus be able to approach the problem with more confidence.

Doodling for Effective Communication
I created and presented this workshop, based on Sunni Brown's book The Doodle Revolution, at three regional professional development events in the spring of 2017. In total it reached over 200 college student participants. The program focuses on how techniques used in drawing can aid in written communication that is engaging, memorable, and easily understood. The workshop utilized small groups and case studies, and taught participants how to present information using a tool called an Infodoodle. As a final product, participants created a project proposal using their new visual communication skills.
